Educational objectives: This specialty aims to cultivate excellent technical talents fitting in with the needs of the international business forefront, with all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor education, with good moral accomplishment, cultural quality and psychological quality, having a good command of the necessary basic scientific and culture knowledge, with good professionalism, practical ability and innovation and entrepreneurship awareness, geared to foreign-related enterprises, with strong English language skills, familiar with the basic theoretical knowledge and business processes in international business industry, familiar with the marketing and operation of cross-border e-commerce B2B platform and cross-border e-commerce B2C platform positions, with professional sustainable development capacity.

Main courses: This specialty mainly offers Business English, English Listening and Speaking, English Writing, Foreign Trade English Correspondence, Business English Translation, Principles of Management, Economic Mathematics, International Trade Practice, Documents for Foreign Trade, Customs Declaration and Inspection Practice, Documentary Practice, International Marketing, Visual Marketing and Picture Processing, Cross-border E-commerce Practice (Internet Entrepreneurship Practice), Cross-border E-commerce Practice--Amazon Platform, Cross-border E-commerce Training--AliExpress, Cross-border E-commerce Practice --Wish Platform, Basic Foreign Trade Skills Training, Comprehensive Training of Business English Viewing, Listening and Speaking, Training of Fundamentals of Cross-border E-commerce, Foreign Trade Merchandiser Training, Cross-border E-commerce Entrepreneurship Practice I/II, On-post Practice and Graduating Project, Social Practice and other courses.

Employment orientation: Engaged in international business operations, international marketing, e-commerce, foreign trade operations, documents processing, correspondence translation, customs declaration, export sales, business representative, English teaching and training etc. in foreign trade import and export companies, cross-border e-commerce foreign trade enterprises, export-oriented manufacturing enterprises, ports, international freight forwarding companies and education, and training institutions, etc.

Faculty: Among the full-time teachers, we have 3 associate professors, 1 doctor, 1 doctor candidate, 7 masters, 9 teachers with bi-expertise. We are awarded the title of “Women Model Post” in NanjingCity and JiangsuProvince. We have ample part-time teachers from the industry and enterprises.

Experimental and training conditions: We have 6 Language Labs, 2 Foreign Language Comprehensive Training Rooms, and 1 Spoken English Activity Center, to provide a guarantee for students to improve their business English practical and communication skills. At the same time, we have also established International Business and TradeTrainingCenter, Cross-border E-commerce Training Base and a number of off-campus training bases. The students can complete the entire international trade workflow at the International Business and Trade Training Center, and the off-campus training bases can enable the students to organically integrate the knowledge and skills acquired at the Institute with enterprise practices to effectively improve their professional ability, realize the “zero docking” of student employment with enterprise need, and create favorable conditions for students to begin their career. The Institute Library houses a large collection of foreign books, periodicals and audiovisual materials, and the classrooms are equipped with advanced multimedia equipment.

Main employers: Nearly 10,000 foreign trade enterprises of cross-border e-commerce online recommended by Shanghai Hecheng Network Technology Co., Ltd., Nanjing Anrui Garments Co., Ltd., Nanjing Lotus International Trade Co., Ltd., Nanjing Uniwill International Logistics Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Axun International Logistics Co., Ltd., etc.

International cooperation: During the institute, the students can be exchanged to Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan and other countries and regions for overseas study at the government’s expense, to broaden their horizons, improve their language and professional ability, and enhance their comprehensive quality.

Pathway for further studies: Thestudents can progress to undergraduate business English specialty through “upgrading from junior college to university” and “junior college student-to-undergraduate” and others channels. At present, this specialty and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics jointly offer business English undergraduate program. The students can receive the academic certificate and diploma issued by Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics when they complete their studies within the prescribed time. The students can go to SongsongUniversity in South Korea for “upgrading from junior college to university” with educational system of 2.5+0.5+2 through the Business English International Cooperation Program.
