Educational objectives: This specialty aims to cultivate excellent technical talents with all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetics education, with good professional quality, practical ability, and innovation and entrepreneurship awareness, geared to tourist attractions, hotels, travel agencies, tourism e-commerce enterprises and related service jobs, understanding the universal law of industrial development, development trend, code of ethics and basic norms, mastering the basic management principles of hotels and travel agencies, fitting in with the needs of management and service frontline, with strong hands-on skills and relevant professional qualifications.

Main courses: Introduction to Tourism, Introduction to Hotel Management, English for Tourism, Professional Etiquette in Tourism, Chinese Tourism Culture, Tourism Policy and Regulations, Tour Guide Practice, Introduction to Conventions and Exhibitions, Travel Agency Operation and Management Practice, Catering Service and Management, Hotel Lobby Management and Housekeeping, Scenic Area Service and Management, Festivals and Special Events Planning and Innovation, Tour Route Design, Banquet Design and other specialized courses, Occupational Quality Cultivation Education Training, Tourism Industry Cognition Training, Professional Image Building and Etiquette Training, Comprehensive Training of Tourism Market Research and Product Design Innovation, Comprehensive Training of Tour Guide Business, Comprehensive Training of Hotel Business and other practical courses.

Employment orientation: The graduates are mainly engaged in tourism planning, resort operation and management, tourism product development, hotel services and management, travel agency operator and coordinator, outbound tour leader, tour guide services, etc. in tourism resorts, tourist attractions and management departments, hotels, travel agencies, tourism consulting and service agencies, tourism e-commerce enterprises and other new operational types of tourism.

Faculty: Among the full-time teachers, we have 1 professor, 3 associate professors, 3 lecturers, 3 doctors, 3 masters, 6 teachers with bi-expertise, all with rich enterprise experiences and strong research and teaching strength. Among them, we have 1 young and middle-aged academic leader of the “333” High-level Talent Training Project in JiangsuProvince, and 2 outstanding young backbone teachers of the provincial “Qinglan Project”. We also have more than 10 part-time teachers from the tourism industry and forefront enterprises.

Experimental and training conditions: We are building Xiajun Tour Guide Master Studio in cooperation with Jiangsu Qunxiang Travel Agency Co., Ltd. We have Physique Etiquette Training Room, Lobby Simulation Training Room, Restaurant Simulation Training Room and Guestroom Simulation Training Room and other training rooms and laboratories to provide students with practical training conditions in addition to theoretical study, to meet the needs of integrating theoretical study with practice. In addition, we also have off-campus training bases such as Nanjing Dongjiao State Guesthouse, Nanjing Quyou International Travel Service Co., Ltd., Nanjing Zhongshan Scenic Area, Nanjing Xuanwu Hotel, Nanjing Yincheng Crowne Plaza Hotel, etc. to meet the students’ needs for actual on-post practice and employment.
