One of the first batch experimental specialties of modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, and a specialty to cultivate urgently-needed professionals

Length of schooling: 3 years

Educational objectives: This specialty aims to cultivate excellent technical talents with firm convictions and all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor education, with good professional quality, practical and innovation and entrepreneurship awareness, geared to all kinds of automobile maintenance enterprises, mastering the principles and construction of automobile engines and chassis, and automobile electronic control knowledge, with strong hands-on skills, operational ability of relevant professional qualifications and international vision, capable of fully grasping the basic skills in automobile fault diagnosis technology, automobile maintenance, automobile and parts inspection, understanding the basic knowledge in automobile technical service, engaged in automobile and auto parts inspection and maintenance, automobile quality inspection, automobile appraisal and evaluation, etc.

Main courses: Mechanical Drawing and CAD, Fundaments of Automobile Machinery, Electrical and Electronic Technology, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission, Introduction to New Energy Vehicles, Electronic-controlled Engine Technology, Automobile Chassis Construction and Maintenance, Automobile Electrical and Electronic Control Technology, Automobile Inspection and Fault Diagnostic Technology, Old Motor Vehicle Appraisal and Evaluation, English for Automobile, Automobile Exhaust Emission Control, Automobile Body Repair Technology, Automobile Modification Technology, Automobile Maintenance Enterprise Management, ASE Automotive Service Professional Skills Development, and Fundamentals of Automobile Maintenance and Installation and Debugging Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Employment orientation: Posts of automobile fault maintenance, automobile electromechanical maintenance service consultant, vehicle loss assessor, automobile modification, automobile performance inspection, automobile electromechanical maintenance technical director, and automobile modification technical director.

Faculty: Among the full-time teachers, we have 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 3 doctors, 5 masters, and 6 teachers with bi-expertise. We won the first prize of National Teaching Achievement Award in 2018, won the special prize of Jiangsu Teaching Achievement Award and the first prize of Teaching Achievement Award of China Light Industry Council in 2017. We won 6 provincial first prizes and 3 second prizes in the automobile testing and maintenance competition and automobile marketing competition of Jiangsu Vocational Students Skills Competition, and won 4 first prizes, 7 second prizes and 4 third prizes in the automobile inspection and maintenance competition of the National Vocational Students Skills Competition in 2012-1016. This specialty became one of the first batch experimental projects of “Modern Apprenticeship System” of the Ministry of Education in 2015. At the same time, we have ample part-time teachers from the industry and enterprises.

Experimental and training conditions: The specialty group of automobile inspection and maintenance technology has 3000m² experimental and training site, 10 training rooms (areas), and over 1000 units (sets) of training equipment. We have purchased Passat 380 TSI, Magotan 2.0T TSI and other leading brand vehicles for training. We have Electronically Controlled Gasoline Engine Inspection and Troubleshooting Training Platform, Gasoline EFI Engine (operable after disassembled) and Electronically Controlled Diesel Engine Inspection and Troubleshooting Training Platform, and other engine training equipment; Hydraulic Power Steering Training Platform, Electronically Controlled Power Steering Training Platform, Electronically Controlled Hydraulic Power Steering Training Platform and other chassis training equipment; Automatic Air Conditioning Test Bench, Automobile Circuits and Electrical Training Platform, Automobile Sensors and Actuators Comprehensive Training Platform and other automobile electronic control training equipment; BMS Training Platform, Electric Vehicle High-voltage Safety Training Platform, Electric Vehicle Control Strategy Training Platform and other new energy vehicle training equipment; High-power Water-cooled Welding Machine, Inert/active Gas Shielded Welding Machine, Automobile Sheet Metal Repair Machine, Rechargeable Outline Repair Machine and other body repair training equipment; Tire Dynamic Balancing Machine, Four Wheel Aligner, Lifter and other vehicle inspection and fault diagnosis training equipment.
