A “through train” specialty of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, a key construction specialty of national model colleges, a brand specialty in Jiangsu Province, one of the first batch experimental specialties of modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, a high-level backbone specialty in Jiangsu Province, and a national electrical and electronic and automation training base.

Employment orientation: The graduates can be engaged in the design, maintenance, debugging, operation and management and other technical work of automation equipment control systems in enterprises, foreign-funded companies and institutions, be engaged in electrical equipment sales and technical services in electrical equipment companies, and serve as technicians of electrical control equipment manufacturing and system development, maintenance management staff in electric power workshops and equipment departments, marketing and technical service personnel of electrical automation products, and operation and monitoring personnel of power systems in enterprises and companies.
Faculty: The Teaching Department of Electrical Automation has 3 professors, 13 associate professors/senior engineers, 10 doctors, 16 masters, and 31 teachers with bi-expertise. Experimental and training conditions: The total area of in-campus experimental and training sites is 3,000 square meters. We have 2 national training bases, 1 national industry-education integration training base, 1 training base of the Ministry of Education for electrical automation backbone teachers with bi-expertise, 1 industry-education deep integration training platform in Jiangsu Province, 1 teacher training base for vocational education in Jiangsu Province; the only one training and accreditation base for senior technician of maintenance electrician in Jiangsu Province and 1 maintenance electrician demonstration base. We have 232 units (sets) of experimental and training equipment for teaching purpose (over 10,000 yuan), with a total value of nearly 100 million yuan. We have built training centers jointly with well-known domestic and foreign companies such as ABB, Schneider, General Motors, Rockwell and other international first-class enterprises, with the enterprise investment amounting to 40 million yuan. We have built off-campus practice bases jointly with ABB Co., Ltd., General Electric Company, B&R Industrial Automation GmbH, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi Electric, Rockwell Automation, KONE Elevator Limited, Kangni Technology Co., Ltd., China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, NARI Relays, Guodian Nanjing Automation Co., Ltd., Wuxi Xinje Electric Co., Ltd. and other well-known enterprises at home and abroad to carry out specialty building and student’s on-post practice.
