In order to implement the consensus of the San Francisco Summit Meeting between the presidents of China and the United States and to promote the cooperation and exchange in the field of vocational education, the 2024 China-U.S. CTE (Career and Technical Education) Institution Presidents’Dialogue was held on June 14th, sponsored by the China Education Association for International Exchange under the guidance of Jiangsu Education Department. The leaders and guests present at this meeting online and offline included Ms. An Yan, Deputy Secretary-General of China Education Association for International Exchanges, Dr. Yang Shubing, Deputy Director-General of Jiangsu Education Department, Dr. Yvonne Chan, Chair of the Board of Directors of Los Angeles Department of Education, Dr. Jay Brewster, Provost and Chief Academic Officer of Pepperdine University, Dr. Xie Yonghua, President of Jiangsu-U.S. Higher Education Alliance and President of Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology, Monte Perez, Chief Counselor of California Community College, and other experts in the field of vocational education.
In their speeches, Ms. An Yan expressed warm congratulations on the conference, Dr. Yang Shubing invited American students to visit Jiangsu, Dr. Yvonne Chan expressed her welcome to the delegation of presidents of vocational colleges and universities from Jiangsu, and Jay Brewster introduced the history, scale and settings of Pepperdine University.
Dr. Xie Yonghua delivered a keynote speech entitled "Overview of Vocational Education in China and Exploration and Practice of NJUIT", focusing on the development of vocational education in China and the exploration and practice of vocational education of NJUIT.
More than 100 Chinese and American experts and scholars participated in the dialogue online and offline.
