Admission Guide for International Students
Nanjing Institute of Industry Technology was originally named the Zhognhua Vocational School created by Mr. Huang Yanpei in 1918, the first vocational school entitled “vocation” in our country. During the hundreds of years in vocational education, it cultivated three academicians, named Zou Shichang, Gu Xinyi and Wang Shiji, as well as over 100,000 construction and management talents including Zhang Wentian, Hua Luogeng, Zou Taofen, Gu Zhun, Qin Yi, Jiang Zhujun and other outstanding alumni.
The school is adjacent to Zhongshan Scenic spot in Nanjing. It has three campuses, named Xianlin, Zhongshan, and Tiantang. Occupying an area of over 1,361 acres, it has an area of structure up to 46,500 square meters. It now accommodates 14,000 full-time students, including almost 1,000 undergraduates, over 400 overseas students, and over 84 faculty members. The school is set up with 10 colleges, 3 departments, and 1 center, 17 specialized groups and 47 specialties, mainly targeting advanced manufacturing, modern services and strategic emerging industries such as new energy and internet of things in Nanjing, other parts within Jiangsu and Yangtze River Delta Region.
The school boosts innovative construction, constantly improves talent cultivating, thus achieving remarkable school effectiveness. In 2004, it was entitled the first “excellent” school in Jiangsu by national talent training proficiency assessment for higher vocational colleges; in 2006, it progressed to be included in the first batch of national demonstrative vocational school; in 2012, it developed into a college among the first batch to collaborate with applied undergraduate course in undergraduate vocational education under approval; in 2016, it became a pilot college for internal quality assurance system diagnose and improvement of higher vocational colleges governed by the Ministry of Education; in 2017, it was included in the demonstration base of “Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation” launched by the State Council.In 2016 and 2017, it ranked top in the selection of Jiangsu higher vocational schools in regard of talent comprehensive competitiveness and granted the title of Top 50 national higher colleges and universities for services and contributions. In 2017, it was honored as the top 50 international influential higher colleges and universities among domestic higher vocational colleges. According to “2018-2019 Competitiveness of China’s Higher Vocational Colleges” ranking issued by Research Center for China’s Science Evaluation, our school ranked first in Jiangsu and second nationwide.
The school integrates multiple resources, actively builds a variety of platforms, serving vocational education with featured advantages and contributing to vocational education with premium resources. It takes the initiative in leading 5 national platforms, named National Academic Center for Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Thought Research Society, National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Alliance for Higher Vocational Education, Vocational Education Committee of CEAIE, Higher Vocational Education Research Society of China Light Industry Federation, and National Modern Electrical Technology Education Group for Machinery Industry. Besides, it also leads 9 provincial platforms, including Jiangsu School Secretary (Presidents) Joint Committee of Higher Vocational Schools, Jiangsu Light Industry Association, and Jiangsu Electrical Vocational Education Group.
At present, the staff of Nanjing Institute of Industry Technology is pioneering unitedly in accord with the “two innovations and one high standard” strategic plan put forward during the third school congress of party representatives, thus to make relentless efforts in building a high-level applied renowned technology-based higher vocational schoolboasting “domestic first-class and international reputation”.

Application Documents Required (In Chinese/English or with translation into Chinese/English)
1. Applicants must:
be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China;
be a high school graduate under the age of 30;
be in good health;
abide by the laws and decrees of the Chinese government and the regulations of the school.
Applications under the age of 18 should submit letters of approval and provide the emergency contact number for their legal guardians in China.
2. International Student Application Form for Nanjing Institute of Industry Technology (See the Appendix).
3. The copy of passport photo page. Applicant who is already in China, shall submit the copy of the visa page or the copy of Residence Permit.
4. Graduate certificate of high school. Prospective degree recipients shall provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing their student status and stating expected graduation date and later submit the graduation certificate to NUIST after admission. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
5. High school academic transcripts. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
6. A Study Plan in Chinese or English.
7. For Chinese-taught programs: applicants shall present the copy of certificate of HSK Band 4 or above.
8. For English-taught programs: applicants from non-English speaking countries shall present the copy of English proficiency certificate, such as TOEFL 80 or above/ IELTS 6 or above, or other official English proficiency certificates acceptable.
9. Other supporting materials (if available, such as certificates of awards and training, etc.).
