The inauguration ceremony of the Cambodia-China University of Technology and Science (CCUTeche), co-constructed by Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology (NJUIT) and the Federation of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia (FKCC), was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the morning of December 20 (local time).
In attendance at the inauguration were Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan, directors and vice directors of relevant departments, Xie Yonghua, Chinese Chairman of the Executive Council of CCUTeche and President of NJUIT, Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia, and other ministers and leaders from Cambodia.
In their speeches, Wu Yan pointed out CCUTeche was the latest achievement of the cooperation between China and Cambodia in the field of education, the Ministry of Education of China supported China and Cambodia in carrying out educational dialogue and exchanges, provided scholarships for Cambodian students to further their studies in China. Hang Chuon Naron hoped that CCUTeche would play an important role in human resources development and contribute to the high quality development of Cambodia in accordance with the needs of the Cambodian labor market as well as the expectations of students, parents and the government. Xie Yonghua remarked that the University would focus on the needs of talent cultivation in Cambodia, strengthen the characteristics of university-enterprise cooperation, promote the educational concept of "Skill+", and cultivate high-quality local technical and skilled talents for Cambodia. Fang Qiaosheng, Cambodian Chairman of the Executive Council of CCUTeche, said the Federation would further deepen the cooperation with NJUIT to introduce Chinese advanced vocational education concepts, education technology and experienced teachers.
After the ceremony, the awarding ceremony of university-enterprise cooperation training bases was held.
