Educational objectives: To cultivate excellent technical talents fitting in with the needs of regional economic and social development and industrial transformation and upgrading, with firm beliefs, superior technical skills and all-round development, having a good command of basic theories, with the professionalism of commitment and team working, craftsmanship spirit of persistent improving and strong innovation and entrepreneurship ability, proficient in product design expertise and skills, engaged in product innovative and creative design, management and other related positions in product design companies, product development departments of enterprises and other fields.
Main courses: Hand-drawn Design Representation, Ergonomics, Materials and Processing Technology, CAD Drawing, Product 2D Representation, Interaction and Visual Communication Design, Product 3D Representation, Creative Life Product Design, Furniture Creative Design, Product Engineering Design, Cultural, Creative and Tourist Commodity Design, Product Structure Innovation, Product Animation Demonstration, Professional Material Collection Training, Product Model Production Training, Small Appliances Innovative Design Training, Product System Design Comprehensive Training, On-post Practice and Graduating Project.
Employment orientation: Geared to the R&D department of product manufacturing enterprises, product design companies, cultural and creative companies, 3D printing companies and related design industries, the graduates can be engaged in the creative R&D design of cultural and creative products, tourist souvenirs, small household appliances, furniture, daily necessities, etc., product brand promotion and related creative design work.
Faculty: Among the full-time teachers, we have 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 11 masters. We also have ample part-time teachers from the industry and enterprises. We have 6 teachers with overseas training experience in the United States, Britain and other countries, and 1 Distinguished Industrial Professor in Jiangsu Province.
The teaching team is optimally structured, with reasonable echelon, high proportion of teachers with bi-expertise, and strong teaching and scientific research ability, presiding over 10 teaching and scientific research projects at the provincial, ministerial, municipal, department and institute levels. The team is a sub-project construction team of the National Teaching Resource Database, and a first-class specialty construction team of “the 13th Five-Year Plan”.
Experimental and training conditions: Product Materials and Technology Studio, Product Creative Research and Development Studio, 3D Printing Maker Space, Exhibition Materials and Technology Studio, Exhibition Project Planning and Design Studio, and Industrial Design Elite Cultivation Studio.
Main achievements: 1 first prize in Jiangsu Information-base Teaching Design Competition, 1 second prize in Jiangsu Micro-lecture Competition, 2 first prizes and 1 second prize of excellent graduation design of college students in Jiangsu Province, more than 10 first and second prizes in the National Vocational Students “Invention Cup” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, 5 first and second prizes in the “Canton Fair” Synchronous Trade Show of Art Education Steering Committee, 4 first and second prizes of Excellent Graduation Design of Jiangsu Industrial Design Association, 7 first and second prizes in the Industrial Design Competition of the National Mechanical Vocational Education and Teaching Steering Commission, and 1 “Best Creative Award” in the Huang Gongwang Theme Cross-Strait Cultural and Innovative Design Competition. We have guided the students to complete 5 provincial-level college students’ practice and innovation projects, and won the title of Civilized Class at the provincial level. The team has obtained more than 160 authorized patents, including 4 patents for invention, more than 60 utility patents, and more than 100 appearance patents.
