Educational objectives: This specialty aims to cultivate international high-quality technical talents with all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetics education, masters the basic concepts, basic principles, basic methods and other basic theoretical knowledge of big data technology, with strong social adaptability and healthy physical and mental qualities, strong innovation spirit, entrepreneurial ability and quality, capable of analyzing and solving practical problems and technologies in the field of big data, competent for big data application system design, big data platform construction, big data system deployment and operation and maintenance, big data application development, big data system testing and services, etc.

Main courses: Data Structure, Java Language, Python Language, Principles of Distributed Computing, Big Data Storage Principles and Applications, Big Data Processing Principles and Applications, Database Management and Applications, Big Data Analysis, Java Web Technology, Big Data Storage Platform Construction Training, Big Data Processing Platform Construction Training, Big Data-based Programming Project Training, On-post Practice and Graduating Project, etc.

Employment orientation: The graduates can be engaged in big data development engineers, software testing engineers, big data pre-sales consultants, big data sales, big data operation and maintenance engineers, big data implementation engineers, big data consultants and other positions in application field.

Faculty: 1 doctor, 1 visiting scholar of foreign colleges, 1 visiting scholar of colleges and universities, 1 high-level talent, 4 part-time teachers who are all from forefront enterprises, and 85% teachers equipped with bi-expertise. We have one big data security and one big data multi-dimensional analysis expert under US Apache Software Foundation respectively, and we ranked first in contribution to Apache big data security top-level projects in 2017, and published several academic papers related to big data in international and domestic authoritative journals.

Experimental and training conditions: 1 provincial Engineering Technology Research and Development Center, 1 Big Data Laboratory, 1 Network Technology Training Room, 1 Network Engineering Training Room, 2 Network Security Training Rooms, 1 Data Backup and Recovery Training Room, 2 .NET Technology Studios, 2 Java Technology Studios, 6 Computer Application Training Rooms, 2 Database Technology Training Rooms, 1 College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research and Development Center, 3 Centers of Excellence jointly constructed with enterprises, 1 Huawei Project Studio, and a Big Data Technology Innovation Team.

Main achievements: 1 first prize of the ministerial Scientific and Technological Progress Award, 12+ authorized patents for invention, the special prize in the NIIT Challenge Cup in 2019, the first prize of Jiangsu Division in the 16^th National Challenge Cup Competition in 2019, and the first prize of Jiangsu Division in iCAN International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and selected for the national competition in 2019.

Honors: We have one big data security and one big data multi-dimensional analysis expert under US Apache Software Foundation respectively, and we ranked first in contribution to Apache big data security top-level projects in 2017, and published several academic papers related to big data in international and domestic authoritative journals.
